He is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School of Neurology and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and an active clinical researcher and educator. This Week In Neuroscience: Cannabis-based topical solution can protect the brain against the damaging effects of alcohol.

Binge drinking is not the healthiest lifestyle choice, but a recent study has shown that the antioxidant properties of Cannabis (specifically cannabidiol) can fight off the neurodegenerative effects that come from your garden variety booze bender.  Researchers found that, by applying a cannabinoid-based gel to the skin of heavily intoxicated lab rats, they were able to reduce alcohol induced neurodegeneration by 40%.  If only you could rub this stuff on your liver.
